Ball Spline

The ball spline utilizes the balls installed in the outer cylinder of the spline shaft. In the precision-grinding rolling groove, it performs smooth rolling and transmission of torque at the same time. It uses a unique contact point design and has a larger contact angle (40°). In addition to having a high degree of sensitivity, it can greatly increase the capacity of the load. It is suitable for environments where vibration impact load is too large, positioning accuracy is high, and high-speed motion performance is required. It can also play an effective role in such environments. At the same time, even if used in place of a linear ball bushing, the ball spline has a rated load that is more than ten times that of the linear bushing because of the same shaft diameter, so that the design can be made very compact, even at the cantilever load, It can also be used safely and with high durability in the case of torque and other effects.

The ball splines can be classified into two types: SLF with flange type and SLT with flangeless. Due to the diameter of the shaft, the contact path of the ball can be divided into 2 rows (180°) (SLF/SLT6 ~ 20) and 4 rows. (70°) (SLF/SLT25 ~ 50), Hollow shafts are also available.
